  1. Before you go to bed try using febreze

Here the website of stuff they do

I use fabreze refresher and air effects

    Hope this heps
  2. I have an aunt that smokes like a freight train... but she's handed me down some pretty decent stuff. Honestly, you may have a hard time getting all the smell out. But, try Fabreez.. lots and often. And if you have room, sit it outside for a couple of days.. that makes an amazing difference.. the fresh air. DO NOT steam clean it.!!! It just makes it worse. Good Luck.
  3. I got a mattress with the same problem. I was able to leave it outside to air (under roof) for several days, I sprinkled it with baking soda and let it sit. I then vacuumed off the baking soda and hit it with the Febreze. It took about a week out in the fresh air and you can't tell it was ever in a smoking area.
  4. This issue has been a major pain in my side as well. The only three things that have helped are (you ready for this?):

    1) Liquid carpet cleaner and zillions of Bounty paper towels. Spot Shot type cleaners will partially dissolve the nicotine and tar components. If immediately followed by furious blotting as well as stacks of encyclopedias on even more paper towels, I find the fluorescent yellow of the offending smoke goo eventually absorbed into the towels. Especially treat corners and places where ash settled.

    2) Hosing the rugs off at a car wash (redneck style) or outside with a pressure washer. They dry in about a day of good bright sun outside. Helped tremendously.

    3) Baking soda. Lots of it. Sprinkled under everything. Boxes of it under the seats. In the cupboards. Note: this will only help clear the air, not actually clean said items of future stink. The Baking Soda Effort has to be repeated regularly.
  5. Sadly, Febreeze is overpriced but only makes bad smells funky. Fortunately for you, they sell ODOBAN at Wal-mart under the Febreeze but for half the price. Just spray all the soft surfaces in that room (carpet, chairs, couches etc.). Don't forget to remove the cushion and spray it separately and the the part of the furniture it was sitting on. Allow to air dry. The ODOBAN actually kills the odor at the source instead of just covering it up. I gave a bottle to a riend of mine who chain smokes with her husband. Now you can't tell it when you walk into their house.
