leather suite? how can i clean and protect a cream leather suite? have used all the normal cleaners,but after a few weeks it looks just as bad!!

How much would it cost to get a leather suite fixed from cat scratches? I may be buying a 3 piece leather suite really cheap from someone , its a lovely suite but it has been badly damaged by cat scratches, mainly on the sofa seat cushions, the sides and a few on the backs and the chairs. Has anyone ever had their sofa fixed in a similar condition, and how much roughly can it cost? Thanks.

How to restore colour on a leather suite? Through over zealous cleaning (rubbing) and probably using cheap leather cleaners my cream leather suite has lost some of its pigmentation. What colour scheme would go with a red leather suite? I have just bought a red leather suite but now I don't know what colours to use with it. My living room is quite small and dark so I can't use red on the walls or floor, I also can't have a very light carpet because the front door opens straight into the living room (dirty foot prints). I accidentally cut my leather couch/suite - how can i fix it? I bought a wallpaper cutting tool (think of a pizza cutter but smaller and alot sharper) and tested the sharpness on the box it came in, it cut through that and about 1 inch of the leather suite the box was leaning on - a very silly mistake. Its a perfect cut and im sure i can glue it together. Someone suggested finding the offcut of leather on the suite and poking it through the hole, then glueing the cut together with 'leather glue'. Has anyone any ideas if this is the right way of doing this and where i can get 'leather glue'. Thanks in advance.

what if an upholsterer gives you advise about your leather suite, and it turns out to be traumatic and wrong? I called a local upholsterer about my leather suite, as it needed restoring. I was told before I began spending money, to experiment myself with 'shoe polish', which has had a very traumatic effect on the leather. A restorer came to restore it, and spent nearly 5 hours working on it, however the wax from the shoe polish has been absorbed too far into the leather, that all the new colour that the restorer put on is begining to peel off. Now he is going to haave to come again and carry out some tests on the leather, and maybe even steam clean it to melt the wax off that has come from the shoe polish, what can I do?
