What is the best dye to dye loose covers of a sofa suite? I'm not sure which type of dye to use to dye the loose covers from my two sofas. The material is a thick quality cotton. Someone suggested dye that you use in washing machine, how would you ensure they were all the same colour as I would have to do 3-4 loads. The suite is a primrose yellow, ideally I wanted cream but obviously that will not work so I thought maybe a brown/beige colour. I am in England so please no answers suggesting foreign products. Thank you. Forgot to metion I will be testing it first on a spare arm cap so it wont matter if it doesn't work. They were from Laura Ashley, the material is a very thick cotton weave. I will try the colour stripper on one of the arm caps and see what happens.

Hiding cat scratches on my new suede sofa suite arrgghh? My cat has shredded the material on the arms and sides of my new mocha coloured microfibre sofa suite, a 2 seater and a 3 seater of the modern square arm shape. The shredding is the worst on the arm/corners of each sofa, and looks terrible!! I have tried getting some decorative trims to patch over it but I need about 20 metres of stuff and cant find anything wide enough to do the job, or affordable enough. Replacing the covers or professional repair is not possible? Any ideas from anyone? (besides methods of feline extermination please, have enough ideas of my own)

I need to deliver a sofa suite to someone UK to UK? I have no idea of the cost or where to go. I tried DHL but their quote stated that my item is too long or too wide for their delivery service. It's a 2 and 3 seater sofa suite. I dont have a van, neither can I drive. What do I do?

Plastic corner protectors on sofa/lounge suite...? I just got a new modular sofa/lounge suite and it was delivered with those plastic things on the corners. Are they there to protect the corners and I leave them on? They are not affixed particularly well... Do I remove them? Can I get my sofa in my new house? I've just bought a new house and have been looking at sofa suites for the living room. I've seen one I like but I've never done this before and I'm paranoid that it won't fit through the door. Can anyone do the maths for me and let me know if it will fit? The door is about 73cm by 190cm and the sofa is 196cm long, 92cm deep and 90cm high.

How much would it cost to get a leather suite fixed from cat scratches? I may be buying a 3 piece leather suite really cheap from someone , its a lovely suite but it has been badly damaged by cat scratches, mainly on the sofa seat cushions, the sides and a few on the backs and the chairs. where can i buy a new leather suite near southeast London ? ok so I am going to go and buy a new leather suite! out with the old in with the new! but now all I see is single sofa's like a large 3 seater with a 2 seater! stretched and wrinkled patch appears on the top of the seat? I recently (1 week ago) took delivery of my new leather sofa suite 'corrected grain'. I was thrilled as they are stunning . However I am concerned, as every time we sit on the seats a stretched and wrinkled patch appears on the top of the seat . My relatives have leather sofas and they haven't had anything like this I'm afraid the seats are going to look really shabby very quickly, which is something I didn't expect. do you think buying a 'pocket sprung seat' would have been better as its got more comfort and surpport? and thanks again for your replys

I am building a new home, im terrible at decorating. What sofa color works with olive walls? I am building a very basic two story home, downstairs having a family room den( computer room) kitchen with nook, walk in pantry, half bath and laundry. Upstairs i have split into two suites, each side have a large bedroom, ensuite and 9x10 walk in closet. End of the hall is a walk in linen closet 8x8. Very simple and basic. I like the greens yellows and browns, but have no idea what to do. I have gone to four " interior decorators" but all of them come up with something different. Where can I find a 2 Bdrm hotel suite? I have done some research online but I still need a little assistance. In March, my family..between 8-10 of us are surprising my 80yr old grandmother with a trip to Vegas. I need a hotel that accomodate us all...and one thats close to the strip as she can't get in and out of cabs because she is confined to her wheelchair most of the day. I have read reviews on Jockey Club Resort and most of them were more towards the negative. Any other suggestions? We are looking to sleep 5-6 to a room. You could buy discontinued and scratched furniture for half the price as their regular store. We are looking for a new bedroom suite and sleeper sofa/loveseat, etc.... I bought 2 leather sofas and received them today. The front of the sofas is hard. Is this normal? At the front of the sofa but on the bit you sit - under your legs near your knee appears to have a piece of wood under the leather. I expect this is to keep its shape. But there is very little padding around it. It is just about OK if sitting still, but any movement and you can feel the wood. If a child ran into it they would hurt themeselves badly. I want to know if this is normal. I've certainly never had a suite like this before or ever sat in one. Is it just the design? Am I being too fussy? I thought you could flop down into a suite and it would be comfy. Is it that there just isn't enough padding? Does anyone else have experience of a hard front on the seat of a sofa? Thanks I bought this mail order so could not try before I bought.

Ideas! How do others do it? Bedroom: do you always make sure that your linen matches or is at least close to the coluour of your bedroom suite. and also do you always match your duvet with bedroom curtains, do you change curtains every time you change duvet or comforter. Lounge: Do you match your sofa, curtains and carpet.

The smell of Curry...? I live in a basement suite and my landlords upstairs cook with curry on almost a daily basis. Now my suite smells like curry and my clothes and my sofas are smelling like it. Is there any way of minimizing the smell? I've got one air filtration device in one of the plugs here and I've also purchased some of the air fresheners that you plug into an outlet but that is just masking the smell. Any suggestions?

Is belly hide leather inferior for sofas? I recently bought a 3 piece suite, most of which is fine except for one seat which is notably softer than the others and after just a couple of weeks looks baggy and is creasing in many places. I had a guy from the store come out to take a look and he said the reason for this is that its leather taken from the cow's belly. He told me this is quite alright however I'm not so sure. Is belly hide a poorer quality leather?

A great hotel/motel that is oceanfront in Myrtle beach SC and at a great price? We are looking for a a nice place just for 3-4 nights in the middle of june and would like to know if anyone has an idea of one that would be oceanfront 2 room suite (1 murphy wall bed or sofa bed in lr and 2 dbls in bedroom) that is not over 115.00 nightly! Would be starting on a sunday and leaving on a thursday! Any info would help us out on a tight budget!

Can 14 - 15 year olds stay in a hotel suite alone? well i want to have my birthday party in the hotel my dad manages. the party will be in the penthouse but i want to have everyone sleep over. i need to have everyone share a room withsome one else. there'll be about 14 people and some rooms will have a pull out sofa bed. but can 14-15 year olds sleep in a room without a legal guardian in the same room.. my parents will have their own room in the hotel as well. lol i am gonna ask my dad.. im thinking of it still.. and im still planning it<3 its a few months from now neway.

Soft or Hard Leather for lounge suites? Still not sure what type to buy. Was presented with highly discounted leather sofas especially made for a big dept store. Assistant advised it was pigmented leather from the top layer of the hide. We thought that we'd better check another up(pper) market store and found another type of pigmented leather but much softer and carrying a higher price & called "Lawson". Does that ring a bell? Is soft or hard leather better for lounge suites for durability in a sunny environment? Soft seems to be less wrinkled but could it be because of the foam? Not sure we have Natuzzi in NZ but is there a website we can find leather quality. Thx. Greatly appreciate opinions and thoughts .... Just came back from a couple of stores. I found the model and firmness I am after in 1st store but the leather was the finished type which was not what I wanted. 2nd store sold Natuzzi brands (most look really flash). Did the fingernail test and failed in the smooth natural finish (almost like suede) but OK in model I wanted (soft pigmented). This one looks much more well 'fitted' but less firm on seat (other models firmer but not the square model I am after). Shop assistant (owner) will ask Italy about getting a firmer one. They have 15 families of leather and about 150 types! She told me that thicker leather wrinkles less than thinner, a different dimension from hard and soft! And the price? about 60% more for the Italian stuff. Well, it looks like the part of the hide matters as well, any thoughts?

What are my legal rights? Hi :) Well, i bought a new 3 piece suite (sofa and two chairs) and i waited 6 months for it to come, as the company gave me two different dates for it to be delivered. So i did this through a finance company (having them pay for the suite to the furniture store and me paying them back through direct debit) but now it's arrived, i've looked at it and its really poor quality. it is NOT what i saw in the showroom, it's not what i paid for. The leather is torn and the stitching is different on both chairs. One of the chairs is a completely different chair altogether. Will they take it back? will i get money back, or will they still take the direct debit? Is there any way they can refuse to return it and make me keep it? What are my rights? Any help is appreciated.
